83 Gti Engineering Golf
hi everyone, i've had this Golf since 2009. It was going to be a keeper for life so I spent a lot of money on it and stuffing away the receipts in the service history file before i could add up the small fortune she's cost me. She is a very rare car for the UK due to her colour, I sent off for the history from the DVLA and found out all the owners and where she has been kept. I also got the birth certificate from VW wolfsburg which confirms she was built for the German Market, but RHD, Right HAnd Drive and then imported 6 months later to London. Her colour of LP9V was not available for the UK market and only know of 3 other cars that have the same paint code from factory, 2 of which are french Oettinger 16S's
I've tried to keep her tastefully modified so that non-vw owners wouldn't even think it was modified, but in reality she is sprinkled with many rare, custom, expensive parts.. This is all to my taste and the only thing i would change is a retrim of the rear seats.
The link to Gti Engineering, a famous and well respected tuner from England in the Eighties had come about by me sourcing an engine that was originally a 1600 but bored out to 1850cc. It was a very rare convertion and after a paint up love the look of it in my engine bay, I had an Oettinger 8v valve cover fitted but during fitting, my friend/mechanic had cracked half the throttle cable retainer off, so now have to find a good aluminium welder for a repair. I also have a pair of Happich pop outs collecting dust, waiting for me to fit them. This summer i found a nice set of Zender turbo 15" alloys for her but before that i was rolling on some rare 15" Pirelli PSlots. Other modifications include Porsche 944 handles, red needles for the speedo cluster and custom backing that i made up that imitated the Oettinger dials, with the MPH gauge going to 140 (not that it would go anywhere near that..
Unfortunatly an exhaust valve is sticking open so next week will be shipping it off to JMRclubsport to get an overhaul, once i get it back i plan to run her for a couple of weeks to make sure the engine is running spot on and then i will strip this car back to standard and put her up for sale. Reason being I am very close to purchasing an Oettinger 16S which has been my dream car for many years and have a garage now for it to stay safe, warm and dry for the rest of my life. I will also be running a 'Gti Engineering MK1 Scirocco as my daily/winter car, so this golf has to go.. along with a Mk3 Golf VR6 that needs a small bit of welding on the floor pan but is in lovely condition else where, and my Corrado will go soon too, as only bought it to get me around whilst the Golf was off the road..
Would it be wrong to modify a 16S by putting my happich pop outs on it? i think i would keep everything else factory..
Having problems with shockwave and my mac, so just 1 or 2 for now.. more photos soon
edit:photos still not working, have to go to bed as have a triathlon in the morning, cannot be bothered to do it but said i would..
Manana!

Hi, thanks for your welcomes.. , i'm sure it's hard for both of us to understand each other but i will continue with the use of google translate to understand your replies.
billb is right, this forum is for the 16s, but i believe this sub-forum is for our other cars without the 16s motor in . I am very very close to purchasing a genuine 16S, which I will share with everyone here in the correct sub-forum! and will be needing a lot of advice and information please! until then I will continue polishing my Otto 1:18..
So back to my current Golf, a few pics.. 1st one has been uploaded to the facebook page..
The happich waiting for my 16S, sorry not selling..
my scirocco, Gti Engineering again..
my corrado, 2.0 8v.. auto box..

Just a quick one the DX engine is a 1.8 not a 1.6
You can see on your factory sticker your engine type
